Presenting the LMU Munich Amgen Scholars in 2023

This year we have welcomed 24 scholars to the Amgen Scholars Programme in Munich. Selected from over 440 applicants, the especially diverse cohort this year brings a total of 16 nationalities into the programme. The participants are paired with 22 host labs at LMU Munich, the MPI Institutes of Biochemistry, Neurobiology and Psychiatry, LMU Klinikum, the Institute for Stroke and Dementia Research (ISD), and the Helmholtz Center Munich.

The programme started with our traditional Opening Retreat in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where scholars were introduced to the LMU site staff, affiliated faculty, and relevant research topics, before joining the labs on July 4th.
